The only negative is that I think the front cover is a bit misleading, at isn't as great as the inside material and story. People who judge a book by the cover might very well miss out on a really great book, like I very nearly did. But that's what they get for being book cover judgemental, right? Nah, I always want to share the great books with as many people as possible.This is a very simple, lovely story about a cat who lived with a wonderful family in the perfect house. Their house had twenty-six stairs, twenty-nine hiding places, a mouse to bat . Beautiful water color paintings of the cat with haunting eyes watching birds through a window are highlights of this storybook "Windows With Birds" is a beautifully illustrated children's book about a cat whose boy and family move him from a house he loves and knows, that has windows with birds, to a strange new apartment in a city that is completely different. The story is movingly told from the cat's point of view. For a while in the new apartment the cat is so terrified he just hides in the laundry basket and won't come out even for treats and water the boy tries to tempt him with. Eventually, though, the cat learns that his new home also has windows with birds and other aspects that can be made into a good home for him and . "beautiful inside and out" according to lucylauder. This is a wonderful children's book with a heart warming story about a cat and a little boy.The illustrations are beyond words beautiful!! I'm a grandmother with 7 grandchildren, I purchased thebook not only for myself, but to share with them too!
