Getting lost in the fight sequences was the biggest surprise of this book. Everybody expects heroes and characters we can all cheer for and this book has several. However the villains have some ambiguity and at times I found myself cheering for them as well. It has its dark, twisted moments that kept me guessing and wondering which side to cheer against. After that, the story just kept getting better. The characters were believable. Even though you love the good guys and hate the bad guys, you can see human motives and weakness in each.
