There were some flaws---the main character, Kit, is stubborn and takes risks when she shouldn't. She refuses to speak to her pa. "Much better than expected" according to Jessica Farmer. I started out reading the sample of this book. Then I had to buy it. It's not like anything I've ever enjoyed before. But it kept me interested nonstop.
