DESCRIPTION:

"Multiple "mini-plots"--but easy to follow!" according to LadyRoh. Books that have the main characters spread out all over creation don't usually hold my interest. "Glooming" was a very wonderful surprise! Even though the chapters took turns telling of the struggles of ONE of 7 main characters in different parts of the globe, the narrative was easy to follow & I had great difficulty putting it down to do other things I had to do! I can't wait to be able to get the rest of the series!. "Thought provoking" according to Pamela Beck. An excellent read, with well-developed characters, in-depth settings, and thought provoking plots. I say plots because, although the characters come together as the story continues, they have separate plots throughout the book. I would definitely recommend this book, and look forward to reading more in the series.. wjh said Good ideas, bad writing. Interesting concept, but so poorly written that I couldn't bear to finish it. Characters are flat stereotypes. A lot of technical detail about armaments and military maneuvers, then very childish descriptions of monsters.
