"A Fabulous Trip!" according to Edith Reager. What a joyous journey. From the very first chapter I felt swept along on an incredible voyage that most of us will never get to experience. We may all travel to Paris but unless you're as talented and handsome as Cliff Simon you'll never see Paris like this. We're given a backstage pass to the inner workings of the famed Moulin Rouge where the book bounces along from one delightful episode to the next, dripping with sex and fun. Not only is Cliff an obviously gifted performer he's a terrific storyteller. In between the fun and games we get some compelling insights into the little known world of his upbringing i. Wonderful, entertaining and interesting story I did not now Cliff Simon was an actor, or a dancer for that matter when I downloaded the book. This story was a great surprise, I thought it would be about dancing from the title, but Simon's raw memoir really delivers. Loved the set-up about growing up in South Africa, serving in the military and the general mischief with his friend Gavin. Simon's inherent toughness and work ethic shows throughout the story without arrogance or gratuitous passages. Nicely done, enjoyed it.. Amazon Customer said Enjoyed your book so much.. Wow loved reading the book!!! I also preordered this book from Amazon which I will be receiving at the end of June. The publishing company gave me a free copy of this book and i would just love to say that I could not put the book down, Cliff is a wonderful and honest writer, he writes with passion and complete honesty. I can relate to his life as how he grew up in South Africa. What courage and great instinct you had to just hop on a plane and go to Paris. The photographs in the book are a big plus because whilst reading the book you can see the people he writes about in your mind. Your love and respect for you

That in itself was interesting and set the stage for his year in France. Are there second thoughts that might propel him right back to South Africa? One can tell that the author is a well-traveled individual who has been around the block more than once. It gives the reader information about the author’s early life and what he did before he moved to Paris. Perhaps his adventure will be rekindled in a subsequent episode of his life’s journeys. Equally exotic was the city that surrounded them: Paris in 1988 was a place of great beauty and great gri

Now the acclaimed television and film actor shares his journey from Johannesburg to the Moulin Rouge to Hollywood in his debut memoir, Paris Nights: My Year at the Moulin Rouge. From a young age Cliff Simon knew he was headed towards big places. Cliff's habit of impulsive risk-taking would continue but ultimately pave the foundation for an experience most of us would only dream of. Instead, Cliff returned home and enlisted in the South African Air Force. After he was honorably discharged, twenty-seven-year-old Cliff worked a series of odd jobs at a resort near the Indian Ocean until he received a phone call from an old friend inviting him to join him at the iconic Moulin Rouge.
