They have a great section in the beginning going over a bit of music theory, embellishments, definitions, as well as strumming and picking patterns. I love teaching from this book all of my students purchase it. It is a great way to learn simple chord strumming, and has the musical notation, as well as TAB so the students learn how to play the melodies. Books is good, but doesn't contain an actual CD. It has a note on a website to go to get the download with a promotional code (so that it's free) - however the link is no longer correct so as of now I have been unable to obtain the audio to play along with as a guide. Hope this can be rectified.. Very Useful Book Amazon Customer I was disappointed in this book because some of the arrangements seemed complex because of a number of sharps. However the book has multiple notations and I found that it helped me learn tablature notation easily. And the CD material was easy to download as long as you are familiar with zip files.
