And I like the 4 book collection as it gives your readers a larger sample . book collection as it gives your readers a larger sample . Good, not great, read JoyceZ I read the first four books in succession. I think I would have enjoyed them more with a break in between. The two main characters reminded me of the Inspector Lewis series I'd seen, mainly in their relationship. The characters definitely have their own unique personalities. The cases are fairly interesting with sufficient red herrings. However Raffertys process of jumping to conclusions, generally incorrect, was a trifle annoying.Humor abounds via Raffertys family. All in all, good read but not on a. "What a romp!" according to BarnaMarg. Humor and murder. Or should I say " humour"? You'll get hooked on the two British police, inspector and sargeant, who solve crimes rather efficiently but don't always solve their personal life issues with the same skill. Great dialogue for us Americansto practice our British slang.I'm looking forward to reading No. 9!
