When I went to Antarctica in "I like this book for its detailed, yet concise inforfation and for its organization and ease of use." according to Erika H. Simons. When I went to Antarctica in 2011 I did not have this travel guide with me. I frequently used my roommate's copy and found it very helpful when trying to recollect detailed information about places we had just seen, for my travel journal or to gather info about the next port of call. This updated copy has still more information and is very well organized. I'm very glad to have it as a reference and would recommend it to anybo. 011 I did not have this travel guide with me. If you're interested in Antarctica, and have NO plans to visit there, this might be the perfect book for you. The book covers the entire continent, even though few travelers can ever go to most of it. The areas where most tourists do go (the islands and the peninsula) are cursorily described but not in the depth you might like before one visits there.
